Q: How do I subscribe?

A: XPlaneUpdate has a built-in ecommerce engine and connection to PayPal. You simply say yes when asked if you wish to subscribe.

As mentioned in the pre-subscription dialog:

VERY, VERY IMPORTANT: If you do not currently have a PayPal account, one will be created for you

BE SURE YOU SAVE THE EMAIL ADDRESS AND PASSWORD YOU USE WITH PAYPAL AS YOU MAY NEED IT TO LOG INTO PAYPAL IN THE FUTURE!

How To Cancel PayPal Subscriptions

You simply login to PayPal, locate the XPlaneUpdate subscription from your history tab, and click cancel subscription.

Very Important Note: If you cancel your subscription before the date that the next subscription payment is scheduled for, you will no longer be able to use your subscription and you will have to sign up for another subscription!

We recommend that if you do wish to cancel, you wait until your next subscription payment is due (which you can see by logging into PayPal), and cancel at or near that time.

Q: My web browser won't open so I can't subscribe, what do I do?

A: You can now subscribe manually.

Q: I lost my transaction ID, can you help?

A: Yes, we now have a way to check on the status of your subscription / find your subscription.

Q: Who is behind XPlaneUpdate?

A: XPlaneUpdate (XPU) is operated by David Spotts and the XPlaneUpdate Team, not Austin Meyer / Laminar Research.

XPU is a convenient, simple, and easy way to update your X-System and will save you hours and hours of manual, painstaking, error-prone steps compared to downloading the entire X-System and merging it with your exisiting X-System.

You do not have to use XPlaneUpdate - you can always download the updates for free from www.x-plane.com.
