All Users

XPlaneUpdate now has built-in live update (ability to update itself), so once you download/install and run the version you have downloaded, you will get a notice about a newer version, as well as a progress window.

Mac OS X Users

1. Be sure you have OS X 10.2.3+ (10.2.8 recommended), and Java 1.4.1 installed using Apple's Software Update
   
   
2. Locate the file you downloaded - XPlaneUpdateXXXX.dmg
   
   
3. Double-click XPlaneUpdateXXX.dmg to mount the disk image
   
   
4. Double-click Install XPlaneUpdate, which will install XPlaneUdateX to your Applications folder
   
   
5. Drag the disk image to the trash to eject it
   
   
6. Make sure you are connected to the internet
   
   
7. Double Click XPlaneUpdate from your Applications/XPlaneUpdateX folder to start the application

Windows Users

1. Locate the file you downloaded - XPlaneUpdateWinXXX.zip
   
   
2. Unzip the file
   
   
3. Make sure you are connected to the internet
   
   
4. Double-click the XPlaneUpdate application icon as shown below
