• We apologize for the delay in getting this version online. We are having connectivity issues / problems with our satellite internet. This makes it difficult for us to get the files for XPU, and especially to upload the 350+MB file that XPU needs to our servers. After dozens of attempts of our own and 2 failures having a friend with DSL upload the file, we were finally successful. The holidays also interfered with our schedule, and we have finally gotten our PCs and LAN up and running here in our new home in Tennessee.
• We are working on a piecemeal uploading mechanism for the future, and/or a way to have our upload "keep trying" until it is successful, so please bear with us ... when 8.30 is released, we will do our best to get that up within 1-2 weeks...

• We apologize for the lack of news and availability of updates via XPU since Austin released his own updater. By popular request, we have decided to continue updates for XPU subscribers for the forseeable future.
  
  
• We also recently moved into a much more rural location with limited space and inadequate satellite internet reliability / speed.
  
  
• This requires us to make a fairly long drive to get the updates from Austin, build the 350+MB fileset required by XPU, and finally wait about 6 hours for it to upload.
  
  
• This means we will be unable to provide betas via XPU as we had hoped, but will strive to provide final versions within 1-2 weeks of release.
  
  
• We are currently uploading 8.17-FINAL now, and, barring any upload problems, it should be available via XPU tomorrow.

• As previously noted we are trying to provide XPU updates once/week when available from Austin. The initial release of 8.15 (beta-1 I believe) was mac-only, and we can't make an XPU fileset without both versions.

• As a result of your requests via our XPU poll a few weeks ago, as well as other factors, we have decided to re-instate providing BETA / RC (release candidate) releases once/week.
  
  Once / week, usually between Sunday nite / Wednesday nite, we will make whatever is the most current version of X-System available to XPU users. If it is a final version, we will include the latest Airport / Navaid data. If it is a beta / release candidate, we will not include the airport / navaid data, but will include that with the next weekly release.
  
  This means that whatever the most current version of X-System is that we have (which might not always be the absolute latest release from Austin if he releases something after we begin processing for the week), you will be able to get via XPU once / week.

• Just 30 MB and 4.5 minutes going from 8.10-FINAL to 8.11-RC-3
• 8.11-RC-3 is expected to be 8.11-FINAL, but this is not certain yet
• Note that Austin added a LOT of files (1500 new/changed files), so you will get a "large number of files" warning from XPlaneUpdate - we have tested X-System after updating with XPU and everything appears to be working perfectly
• If you wish to clean your X-System out to save disk space, you might want to download the full version and use XPlaneUpdate to keep that version up-to-date
• Once this version goes final, we will be adding the latest airport/navaid data from Robin Peel to both v8 and v7 ... please standby :-)

• Austin changed a lot of files / locations of files, so this update is about 450 files and 70MB using XPU
• This will probably be the last update available via XPU for the next week or so
• We always recommend using the Clear File Cache from the XPlaneUpdate menu (2nd menu in menu bar mac, top left corner of the XPU window on windows)
• Remember to delete your x-plane preferences after updating

• This error has been corrected ... All XPU users should Clear File Cache, and re-run the update to be sure they really have 8.02-BETA-2.
